Lynx kick off their Futsal Champions League campaign against Finnish Champions Sievi tomorrow evening at 1900 hrs in what is surely going to be a packed Tercentenary Sports Hall. It is a historical moment for Futsal in Gibraltar as it’s the first time in its History that the Futsal Champions League Qualifiers will be coming to our shores.
Lynx, who qualified for the competition among controversial circumstances come into the competition full of confidence, in search for what could be a potential upset. We caught up with Lynx magnate Albert Parody as he shares his thoughts with us:
“We have been training for the past 6 weeks and we feel ready. Training has been intensive and different to what we might be accustomed to but i honestly feel we are completely ready for this massive challenge that we will face. We have had to pass medical exams and everyone is doing great and thankfully we have a very tight knit group which im sure will serve us well for the upcoming tournament. We will give it our all and try and make Gibraltar proud; im sure we will.”
Lynx will also play on Thursday against Scottish Champions Santos FC and they will finish their tournament on Saturday against Norwegian Champions Grorud IL.
We wish Lynx all the best in their debut as a club in European Competition; we are sure Gibraltar will be behind you.
